Emma Foughty is a dancer, actress and singer from Dallas, TX,  currently pursuing a BFA in musical theatre from The University of Alabama

Emma Foughty is currently pursuing her BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of Alabama School of Theatre and Dance. Emma grew up studying at Chamberlain School of Ballet and eventually became a member of The Chamberlain Ballet Company. Miss Foughty spent three years in The Company before departing to pursue a musical theatre track. While at Chamberlain she performed under the direction of Kathy Chamberlain, Carter Alexander, Tim Fox, Suzette Mariaux, Kevyn Robertson, Hillary Werthman, Jane Martin, Brandi Coleman and Katie Martin. Her dance coursework has also included studies with Stacy Alley, Qianping Guo, Catherine Mooney-Burton, Candice Woods, Tracy Jordan, Dory Kyrias and Becca Sigmund. 

During the summer of 2022 she participated in the Oklahoma City University Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment summer intensive where she studied under Vincent Sandoval, Alana Martin, Tiffany van der Merwe, Jessica Faye and Tye Love. 



Additional master class work includes : Cornelius Carter, Candice Woods, Brandi Coleman, Chris McCarrell, Jamal Story, Alonzo King LINES, Pat Miller, and Lauren Giordano Whittington. 



As a junior and senior company member of Chamberlain Ballet she danced Russian Corps, Waltz of The Flowers Corps, and Snow Corps u/s in The Nutcracker, Hunter in Peter and the Wolf, Crying Girl in What We Do With Time, and in the ensemble of Westside Story.

Emma’s ten years of vocal training have been under the direction of Kathy French (2014-2024), Tina Walsh (2022-2023) and Dr William A. Martin (2023-Present).

Miss Foughty's recent theatre credits include : The Addams Family at Theatre Tuscaloosa (Ancestor / Co-Dance Captain), South Pacific at Rockwall Summer Musicals (ens. Pamela Whitford / Dance Captain) and She Loves Me at The University of Alabama (ensemble). Other credits include The Sound of Music (Maria), Legally Blonde (Brooke), Our Town (Emily), Chicago (ensemble).

In 2024 she was recognized as "Newcomer of the Year" with Rockwall Summer Musicals. Emma received the "Best Choreography in a High School Musical" award from Broadway Dallas, (Legally Blonde) in 2022.​

Emma is currently located in Tuscaloosa, AL and anticipates completing her BFA degree in 2027.
